liebes Tagebuch.
Vergangene Woche habe ich etwas gemacht, das irgendwie auch eine ganz schlimme Erfahrung war. Willstes wissen? Na gut.
Anfangs hatte ich mir ganz naiv gedacht, bringste deiner Abteilung mal bei, was du (also: ich) unter Gamification verstehst. Idealerweise noch am Beispiel von Ingress, das ich seit etwa drei Monaten aktiv erkunde (ganz im Geiste der Wissenschaft, natürlich).
Was dann geschah, war die Hölle. Zum Glück nicht für mich, sondern für mein Publikum.
Eine Stunde lang mussten sie ausharren und meinen wirren Ausführungen zu folgen versuchen. Und dann habe ich die wichtigsten Aspekte auch noch vergessen zu erwähnen! Das hole ich nun hier nach:
- Alles Essen, das am Vortrag serviert wurde, war 100% vegan! Danke @shibby fürs Zubereiten!
- Getränke hingegen gabs gar nicht. Ja, da kann man noch dran arbeiten.
- Wenn du (also: wieder ich) schon Powerpoint-Karaoke machst und deinen (also: meinen) Vortrag zu einer völlig fremden Präsentation hältst, dann versichere dich vorab nicht nur, dass deren Inhalt weder sexistisch oder rassistisch, sondern auch anderweitig unbedenklich ist. Denn ist sie voller Bilder von Schlangen und im Publikum sitzt jemand, der Schlangen ganz abscheulich findet, dann hast du (also: ich) nicht die volle Aufmerksamkeit deines Publikums.
- Jetzt aber zum Eigentlichen: Ingress ist ein Augmented-Reality-Spiel (AR).
- Deshalb kann man auf seinem Handy auch nur mit solchen Portalen interagieren, die in unmittelbarer Umgebung zum aktuellen Aufenthaltsort stehen (maximal 35 – 40 Meter entfernt).
- Eine Ausnahme hiervon erlauben die „Portal Keys„, die einem sowohl die Fernwartung von Portalen ermöglichen als auch das Verbinden mehrerer Portale zu Feldern (Letzteres bringt im Spiel richtig Punkte). Aber das mit den Portalschlüsseln ist noch wohl noch etwas früh an dieser Stelle.
- Es gibt auch eine Webversion von Ingress, dort kann man sich aber „nur“ die weltweite Lage ansehen (inkl. vieler Details), jedoch nicht aktiv ins Spielgeschehen eingreifen. Du kannst selbst ausprobieren, dass das nicht geht, auf ingress.com/intel.
- Dafür brauchst du aber einen Ingress-Account. 4 Einladungen zum Spiel habe ich noch. Wenn du eine möchtest, melde dich. Es gilt: 1st come, 1st served aka es hät, solangs hät.
- Ingress wird offenbar vor allem von Velokurieren gespielt (wenn man der Hintergrundgrafik von Ingress.com glauben darf). Macht nix, ich war ja mal einer.
- Ingress ist nicht nur ein Daten-, sondern auch ein unglaublicher Stromfresser! Die meisten Spieler, die ich kenne (und das sind nur drei), haben immer zwei weitere Akkupacks für ihr Mobilgerät dabei.
- Ich hatte gar nicht auf die Blogseite mit weiterführenden Links zu Ingress hingewiesen, die ich extra für die Brownbag Session angelegt habe: digitalerhebel.com/ingress
- Aber am allerwichtigsten und von vielen angefragt: die Präsentation aus dem Vortrag!

Apropos anzüglich: Nach dem Vortrag wurde ich darauf hingewiesen, dass die crowdsourced Verkehrsapp Waze (die vor kurzem von Google gekauft wurde) ebenfalls Elemente von Gamification aufweist. Ist mir noch nie aufgefallen; ich war wohl bisher immer davon abgelenkt, dass deren kleine Sprechblasen aussehen wie Spermatozoen. #sexsells
